Note | Born 7-Dec-1934 in Temple, Bell County, Texas. He was called "Joe". Joe graduated from Saint Mary's University in Temple with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration. He served in the United States Armed Forces as a lieutenant in Korea from1957 to 1959. He then became a Certified Public Accountant and joined an accounting firm in Temple, Texas as a partner. Joe's hobbies are golfing, skiing, bowling, hunting, and fishing. Joe was married to Laura Jo England (Hodges?) 17-Feb-1973. Obituary from Temple Daily Telegram: Services for Joe Fojtasek, age 71, of Temple, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday at Sheffield Funeral Home chapel. Dr. Thomas Allen of Grace Presbyterian Church of Temple will officiate. Joe, a native of Temple, had a life that came full circle on Thursday afternoon. He was born in King's Daughters Hospital on December 7, 1934 to Joe Fojtasek and Mary (Hutka) Fojtasek. He retired as Chief Financial Officer from King's Daughters Hospital in 2000 and died in King's Daughters Hospital July 13, 2006. Joe began his days of employment as a 10 year old, delivering newspapers for the Temple Daily Telegram. He continued with this endeavor until 1953 when he graduated from Temple HighSchool where he played football and basketball. His life's journey continued St. Mary's University in San Antonio and then to the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant serving in Korea. He returned to civilian life, earned his CPA certification and became co-owner of Vance and Associates Accounting firm in Temple. In 1973, he married Laura Jo Hodges of Gregory, TX and the journey continued as a father to three teenage sons and eventually as a loving and devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren. After selling his partnership at Vance and Associates, he became the CFO at King's Daughters Hospital, retiring in December 2000. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, Cowboys fan, gardener, caring brother and uncle, grandfather, and husband. He will be remembered by all as a sweet, generous and witty companion. |
